Stepping Stones Preschool is staffed by a Director/Teacher and an Assistant
Teacher. Two parents from the Cooperative Plan also assist in the classroom
each day. Often we have students from the University of Iowa observing,
helping, or student teaching in the classroom.
Nancy
Lilienthal is the Director/Teacher. She has a B.S. Degree in Child
Development with Endorsement 53 (Early Childhood Accreditation) from Iowa State
University. Nancy has a license to teach preschool and kindergarten in
the state of Iowa. Nancy has a 22-year history with Stepping Stones as a
parent, Board member, and teacher.
Karleen McDonnell has a B.S. in Education from The University of Iowa. She has three children, two of which attended Stepping Stones. Karleen has been a parent volunteer every year, a Board member for the past three years, and also volunteers at her older children's elementary school. Her knowledge of early childhood development is well reflected in her teaching style at Stepping Stones.
